Pilot: 100 spots Get a free, guided invite to Hive
I’m Walter, @walterjay on Hive and the person behind whatishive.com. I’ve been on Hive (and Steem before it) since 2016. I’ll create a free Hive account for you and help you through your first week.
Takes about two minutes. In a hurry? You can sign up instantly with a free app instead.
How it works
-
Apply
Fill in a short form: your email, the username you’d like, and what you’d post about first. A link to a profile or site of yours (Instagram, YouTube, a blog) is optional, but those requests are reviewed first.
-
I review every request by hand
I read each one myself and approve people in small weekly batches, so I can actually help everyone who joins. The pilot is limited to 100 people. If you’re approved, I’ll email you.
-
You create your own keys
My email will send you to Ecency’s “Invited by a friend” sign-up. You pick your username there, your keys are created on your own device, and you save them. You then send me a link, and I create the account from it.
I never see your private keys and I will never ask for them. Anyone who does is not me.
-
Your first week
Write a short post introducing yourself, tagged introduceyourself. Once you’ve posted, I lend your account extra capacity so you can post and comment freely, and I’ll be there to answer questions.
Good to know
- It’s free, with no strings. The account is created with account-creation tokens that my own Hive account earns. You don’t pay anything and don’t owe anything.
- The account is fully yours. Your keys control it, not me. It works in every Hive app, not only the one you signed up with.
- I’ll be your recovery account. Because I create the account, Hive makes me its recovery account by default: if someone steals your account, I can help you get it back within 30 days. You can switch to a different recovery account later.
- Your details stay private. The form is hosted by Tally. I use your email only to contact you about your invite, never share it, and will delete your request if you ask.
- Want to stay anonymous? Skip the form and use a paid option that needs no email, such as Hivedex, from signup.hive.io.
